Maintenir, tourner ou soulever un patient alité sont des tâches récurrentes dans le quotidien des soignants, particulièrement en EMS et en soins à domicile. Ces efforts causent des douleurs, du stress et requièrent au moins deux soignants. Dans ce contexte, un groupe d’étudiants en ingénierie à l’HEPIA développe un système mécanique fixé sur le lit qui permet d’effectuer seul ces manipulations sans effort et dans une position idéale.

Handling, turning, or lifting a bedridden patient are repetitive tasks in caregivers’ daily work, particularly in nursing homes and home care. These efforts cause pain, stress, and usually require at least two caregivers. In this context, a group of engineering students from HEPIA (Geneva University of Engineering) is developing a mechanical system mounted on the bed, allowing a single caregiver to perform these operations effortlessly and in an ergonomically optimal position.
